About the library

Books are better when they’re shared.

Lonesome Dove Library is a home library in Katy, Texas, created to make a roomful of stories easier to discover and enjoy. What started as family bookshelves grew into 25 themed shelves with personality — from “Judge These Books By Their Covers” to “Children’s Story Hour”.

Browse the catalog before you visit, then find your book on a real shelf. Take a book home, bring it back when you’re done. It’s free, easy, and welcoming.

Step inside

A room built for readers.

Every shelf here was arranged by hand, and every collection has a story. Some shelves gather beloved classics, others hide unexpected treasures — the kind you only find when you’re browsing a real room, running your finger along real spines.

There’s a chair at the end of the aisle. Pull it out, open something, stay awhile. That’s what the room is for.
